Falmouth was matched with this swatch as I didnt want there to be any strong colours, but due to their remotness and scenery I wanted it to be subtle and similar to the blue of the sea and sky....cringe? but I thought this would be the most appropriate.
I thought both glasgow and liverpool were strong vibrant cities so I applied these colours to their location.
At this stage I realise it could be seen as stereotyping locations but I think it seems relevant and its the only way to categorise with these colours as theyre all quite similar.
The next two were just split as I couldnt really differentiate between them and by this point I thought that maybe thinking too deeply about the colours and how they relate may not be very appropriate.

The most important thing to communicate through the posters is the information needed at the event, so date, event etc and also the venue and corresponding colour.
I started with a simplistic grid, applied over the top of this pattern that was created with the logo, I want to use the logo throughout the branding as I think it will create the strongest outcome.
This was initially the layout of the prilimary poster, however it didnt add the colours relevant and I think the rectangles were unjustified, so it seemed to make more sense to use part of the logos.
I have also applied logos for who the event was being sponsored by, this adds credibility to the brand and adds those brands reputation. The logos added were the design museum, istd and D&AD. these are very appropriate and thus work well
I wanted to include some imagery to add interest to each individual poster. The clipping mask from the logo allows yet more reinforcement of the brand.
These are the range of the final posters with the applied outcome. I think they work better as promotional posters due to them only being one sided. Therefore they will be applied around relevant cities so that local students and professionals such as tutors and designers can also see it. Despite the main audience being students I think that the education will be useful for all professions as it isnt only students.
